I am a fully licensed clinical social worker, Michigan License No. 6801091876.
After several years in the legal profession, I decided to pursue my passion for helping children and families cope with the effects of trauma, mental illness, and substance abuse. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, with a concentration in Interpersonal Practice, at the University of Michigan School of Social Work in Ann Arbor.
I completed an internship at the University of Michigan Center for the Child and Family, where I was supervised by an interdisciplinary team of experts in clinical psychology, psychiatry, speech and learning, and clinical social work. Over the course of my internship, I obtained training and experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, play therapy, family therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques.
I have worked as an outpatient therapist at clinics in Flint and Pinckney, where I treated children, adolescents, families and adults with a wide variety of diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and personality disorders. In those settings, I employed several evidence-based treatment methods, including dialectical behavioral therapy.
I also spent three years on the clinical staff at Ele's Place in Ann Arbor, where I coordinated peer support groups for grieving children, teens and adults in Washtenaw and surrounding counties.
